Written by Amanda Dexter | Nov 29, 2018 6:00:00 AM

NBEO® Part II test day is fast approaching! You've been studying for months now to do your best on the exam, but are you prepared for exactly what happens at the testing center come test day? Continue reading to make sure you are completely ready for all things NBEO® !

Admission into the Testing Center

In order to be admitted into the testing center, you will be required to show 2 valid forms of personal identification. Both IDs must match the name used to register for the exam. Both forms must also contain your signature and must be current (not expired). At least one form of ID must be a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license or passport). The other ID may be a student identification card, a credit or debit card, or other card that has your name and signature. Candidates who do not have proper ID may be denied admission to the exam and will not eligible for a refund of the exam fee.

Candidates should arrive at the test center 30 minutes prior to their scheduled appointments to allow adequate time for the check-in procedures. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes after their scheduled appointment times will be denied admission and will not eligible for a refund of the exam fee.

What NOT to Bring

A note board booklet and marker will be provided to you at the testing center to be used for scratch paper. You may not bring in any of your own writing instruments into the exam rooms. Calculators may not be brought into the testing room.

You also do not need to bring your own calculator. For the Part II PAM exam, an on-screen basic calculator will be available.

Watches are not permitted in the examination rooms. Large wall clocks will be provided in each exam room to keep track of the time. It is recommended that watches not even be brought to the test center to avoid loss or theft. (Lockers will be provided at the testing centers; but they should be used at your own risk). Same goes with cell phones; they are not allowed in testing rooms, and it may be better to keep them in a safer place than bringing them into the test center.

No other electronic devices of any kind are permitted in the exam rooms except for those necessary to assist disabled candidates (these must be approved by NBEO® proper to the exam).

Food and drink are not permitted in the exam room, but may be consumed during the breaks.

Breaks

Candidates are allowed restroom breaks during the examination; however, no additional testing time is allotted. If you need a break, raise your hand and a test administrator will escort you out of the testing room. Additional instructions will be reviewed at the testing center prior to the exam.

There is a mandatory break between the 1st and 2nd sessions. Candidates may take up to 45 minutes or may choose to take a shorter break. Following this break, candidates are not permitted to return to any questions in session 1.

Testing Center Information

Candidates are encouraged to log on to the Pearson VUE website and click on the Pearson Professional Center Online Tour link. This brief video will familiarize candidates with the test center and what to expect on exam day.

During check-in at the center, candidates will have a digital photograph and palm vein scan taken.
