What it Takes to Recruit a Talented Millennial Associate OD

Most of us young ODs or optometry students are considered part of the millennial generation (whether we like it or not). With that being said, our generation is known for doing things differently, especially when it comes to looking for jobs.

We are more likely to use social media to check out a new office and doctors before we even meet them, we are known for being more demanding when it comes to pay and work hours/days, and we also tend to more easily leave a job when we are unhappy as compared to our older colleagues.

This article, written by a classmate of mine, gives managing ODs a little insight into how millennials look for and think about work; how we evaluate their practice and determine if it will be a good fit for us.

Much has been written about Millennials, those of us born between 1982 and 2002, in how to attract and keep us as patients. But what about attracting Millennial ODs as associates?

What do you think? Does this fall in line with how you plan to search for a position after you graduate?
