Here are some Important Optometry Residency Dates to Know up until April of 2017.

October 5, 2016

A complete list of all of the optometry residency programs participating in ORMatch was made available by this date. Additionally, the ORMatch registration also became open for applicants. 

October 2016  -   January, 2017

During this time, all applicants must submit their applications to their desired programs through the ORMatch application service. The ORMatch application service will provide the information submitted by each applicant to the programs designated by the applicant. Applicants are required to send all additional supporting application information (e.g., CVs, transcripts, letters of reference) directly to each of the programs they applied to. Application requirements and deadlines for programs may vary; therefore, applicants should contact programs directly for more information on when and where to send the extra materials. 

December 31, 2016

Recommended date by which all applicants should register for ORMatch. Remember, applicants cannot use the ORMatch application service until they have registered for ORMatch.

January 11, 2017

By this date, instructions for submitting Rank Order Lists and obtaining Match results will be available to applicants and program coordinators registered to participate in ORMatch.

January 31, 2017

This is the closing date for the ORMatch Application Service. After this date, applicants will not be able to submit applications to programs through ORMatch. Each program sets its own application deadline, which may be before or after this date. Applicants should contact programs directly for more information.

February 7, 2017

Match participants may begin to submit Rank Order Lists for the Match on this date.

February 24, 2017

Final date for submission of Rank Order Lists by applicants and programs. No Rank Order Lists or registrations for the Match can be accepted after this date.

March 6, 2017

Results of ORMatch are released to applicants and program coordinators. 

March 6, 2017  -   April 5, 2017

Program coordinators will send letters of confirmation of the ORMatch results to matched applicants within 10 working days of the release of the ORMatch results. Applicants must then sign and return the letters of confirmation within 30 days of the release of the ORMatch results.
