It is important for physicians to understand whether to use oral versus topical medications as treatment based on the disease state. Dr. Whitley emphasizes the importance of asking patients the right questions and shares examples of resources that ODs can use to research drug recommendations and side effects. He reiterates that in order to practice at the highest level of the profession, it is important to consider different treatment options.
