Have you heard about the controversy in Florida? A recent court motion may require that new and upcoming graduates retake all parts of the NBEO exam if they intend on practicing in Florida.
Apparently, the law states that the Florida Board of Optometry must certify an applicant as eligible for licensure prior to them taking the NBEO exam. As we all know, optometry students do not typically apply for licensure until after they've taken the NBEO and met requirements for graduation.

As your 3rd year begins to wrap up, you are probably starting to get prepared for your first rotation as a 4th year optometry student. You will no longer be taking classes, midterms, and finals at school; you’ll be out working in a clinic (likely 8 hours a day, 5 days per week), seeing patients and absorbing all the information you can to help prepare you for the “real world.”
