The New NBEO Part 1

As you are likely aware, the NBEO is changing the format of the Part 1 Applied Basic Science (ABS) examination. The final paper-and-pencil (PNP) version will be administered in August 2016, then to be replaced by the computer-based test (CBT) format beginning in March 2017. In addition to transitioning to a computer-based format, there are a few more differences that you should be aware of.

After months of studying and preparing for Part 1 of NBEO can you believe that it is finally over?!

All those long days studying at the library without even showering or putting normal clothes on, all those nights you stayed up well into the morning trying to memorize all of the details of the visual pathway, all of those fast food meals you ate because you didn’t have enough time to cook a real meal, and all those opportunities you missed to hang out with your friends and family because you had a study session have finally come to an end! Now how do you feel? Relieved? Tired? Happy? Nervous?

And what are you now going to do with a little extra free time (until the next set of exams comes around)? We’ve come up with a few ideas to help you celebrate and get your life back on track!

NBEO Part II Test Day: What to Expect

What to Expect for the NBEO Part II ExamWith NBEO Part II fast approaching, we want to ensure that you are completely prepared for what to expect during the PAM (Patient Assessment and Management) exam so that there aren’t any surprises come testing day!

Where/When to Report

All candidates will receive a verification email from Pearson VUE indicating the date, time, and location of their examination. The Part II exam is offered to each student on one of two dates, either December 1st, 2015 or December 3rd, 2015. The starting time for the exam will vary depending on the appointment you have scheduled with Pearson VUE. Each candidate should arrive to the exam center 30 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment to allow adequate time for the check-in procedures. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes after their scheduled appointment times will be denied admission and are not eligible for a refund of the exam fee.
